How does this asbestos cover-up affect me? 

If you or a loved one has an asbestos-induced disease today, it is likely the result of the fact that the asbestos industry failed to warn you or your loved one that the asbestos products to which you were exposed were dangerous. The industry likely did not tell you that these products could cause asbestosis, lung cancer or mesothelioma, that respirators should be worn whenever asbestos products are used or whenever someone works around other trades who are using asbestos products, that protective clothing should have been worn so that you would not take this dangerous dust into your homes, and that you should use whatever means were available to control the dust from asbestos products to prevent microscopic asbestos fibers from being released into the air.  The failure of these asbestos companies to provide this information to workers, information that they knew but that the workers did not know, is the basis for the many lawsuits that have been filed.
